November 07, 2024

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Duarte Metro Passenger Station regarding a Grand Theft call for service.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted Metro Supervisor who advised that unknown suspect(s) entered the location, cut the copper wire from the right- of- way track area, and stole copper wire valued at $3,015.  On November 6, 2024, a male adult was seen on Metro CCTV video footage at 2115 hours walking away from the location. The suspect is still outstanding.

Criminal Threats – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Norwalk Metro Passenger Station regarding a disturbance call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contact the bus operator (victim), who stated he was approached by an adult male (suspect) who threatened to stab him.  The victim added that during a bus layover, the suspect approached him while he was seated inside his bus and demanded that he put the bus back in service.  The victim told the suspect that the bus was on a layover and would resume service in 15 minutes.  The suspect then became agitated, produced a box cutter, held it in a threatening manner toward the victim, and said, “Better hurry up, or you’re going to get cut up!”  The victim remained inside the bus and was able to close the doors.  Deputies arrived on scene, located the suspect and arrested him.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Florence Metro Passenger station regarding a robbery call for service.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated he was on the northbound A line train approaching the Florence Metro Passenger Station when three males (suspects) walked up to him.  An argument ensued, during which one of the suspects grabbed two of his gold chains from around his neck, causing the chains to break.  The suspect then produced a knife and demanded the victim’s wallet and cell phone.  The victim refused and backed away.  The suspects exited the train and fled the location. The suspects are still outstanding.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Vermont Metro Passenger Station regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult female (victim), who stated, she was standing near the west-end staircase on the street level when an adult male (suspect) walked up to her and tapped her on the shoulder.  As the victim looked up at the suspect, he grabbed her gold chain from around her neck, causing the chain to break. The suspect took the victim’s chain and fled downstairs to the platform level, the suspect boarded an eastbound train and out of view. The suspect remains outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Gun) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to South Pasadena Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated he was threatened by an adult male (suspect) with a black 9MM handgun. The victim further stated the suspect was harassing passengers on the train.  When the victim approached the suspect to stop him from harassing other passengers, the suspect produced a gun.  The suspect then exited the train at the South Pasadena Passenger Station and fled in an unknown direction.  Deputies conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim was not injured during the incident. The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Knife) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Atlantic Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult male (Victim) who stated that he was threatened with a knife by an adult male (Suspect). The victim further stated his bicycle was secured at the platform bike rack when he noticed the suspect taking a light that was secured on his handlebars. The victim approached the suspect to prevent him from stealing the light, at which time the suspect then produced a knife and threatened to kill the victim. The suspect then ran and boarded the train with the light. The victim followed the suspect on the train.

Both parties exited the train at the next stop, where the confrontation continued. The suspect then grabbed a nearby electric rental scooter and threw it at the victim. The scooter landed on his feet, causing a small laceration on his foot. The victim was able to flag down nearby East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputies. The deputies detained the suspect and notified Transit Services Bureau. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to evaluate and treat the victim for his injuries, but he refused any medical treatment. The suspect was arrested.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Knife) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Crenshaw Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult male (Victim) who stated, while on the platform, an adult male (suspect) approached him and without any provocation began attacking him with a knife. The victim further stated that he did not know the suspect and had no verbal altercation or exchange of words with him. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and treated the victim for a 2-inch laceration to his left shoulder and a ½ -inch laceration to his left hand.  The victim was transported to local hospital for further medical treatment.  The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. The suspect is outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Hands) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Wardlow Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult female (Victim) who stated that while riding the train, an adult male (suspect) was on the train pacing up and down the aisle holding a pair of scissors in his hands. Without provocation the suspect punched the victim on the left side of her face. The suspect then exited the train at Compton Metro Passenger Station and fled out of view. The Long Beach Fire Department responded and treated the victim at the scene for bruising and swelling to the left side of her face. The victim was transported to local hospital for further medical treatment. The suspect is outstanding.

Copper Theft – Suspects Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies conducted train rides on the Metro A-line. While on the train TSB Deputies located an adult, male (suspect) who was wanted for copper wire theft. TSB Deputies were able to exit the train at Duarte Metro Passenger Station and detain the suspect. The suspect was arrested without further incident.

Assault – Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Avalon Boulevard and Realty Street in the City of Carson regarding a trespassing call for service. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the Metro operator, who stated that an adult male (suspect) was drinking an alcoholic beverage on the bus. The operator asked the suspect to exit the bus; however, the suspect refused and began yelling profanities and threatening the operator. Deputies tried to talk the suspect into exiting the bus, but he refused. 

Due to the suspect being in a wheelchair, deputies attempted to assist the suspect off the bus, at which time the suspect grabbed the handrail and began kicking the Deputies multiple times in the legs and groin. Deputies were able to gain control of the suspect’s arms and place him in handcuffs. While the deputies were placing the suspect in the back seat of the patrol car, he spat at the deputies, striking one of them in the face and eyes. The suspect was then transported to a local station for further processing.

October 23, 2024

Train vs Vehicle

TSB deputies responded to Colorado Avenue and 14th Street in the City of Santa Monica regarding a train versus vehicle call for service. Deputies contacted the train operator, who stated a white vehicle (NFD) made a left turn from Colorado Avenue to 17th Street in front of the train, causing a collision. After the train and the vehicle collided, the vehicle became disabled and remained at the location. The train had numerous passengers onboard who, at the time of this incident, did not complain of pain or injury. The train was moved to 17th Street Passenger Station where the patrons were offloaded and boarded a serviceable train. Santa Monica Police Department responded to complete the traffic investigation.

Grand Theft - Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Florence Metro Passenger Station regarding a Grand theft person’s call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted a male adult (victim) who stated he was sitting on a northbound train when he was approached by four male juveniles (suspects).  One of the suspects pointed at the victim’s gold chain around his neck. The suspect then stated he would take it.  Another suspect continued to hold the train doors open, allowing the first suspect to snatch the victim’s chain and let all four suspects exit the train.  The victim stated he was not hurt. Suspects are still outstanding.

Robbery – Suspect Outstanding

While TSB Deputies conducted a patrol check of the Willowbrook Metro Passenger station platform, they were ‘flagged down’ by a female adult (victim). The victim told the deputies she was waiting on the platform when a female adult (suspect) approached her and forcefully grabbed her cell phone from her hands. The suspect fled in an unknown direction and out of view. The victim stated she was hit in the head during the incident. Los Angeles County Fire responded and conducted an evaluation of the victim. The victim was evaluated and medically cleared.  The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault with a deadly weapon - Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Firestone Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted both male adults (victim and suspect).  The victim told deputies he was on a northbound Metro Blue Line train when he and the suspect got into a physical altercation.  Upon the train arriving at Firestone Metro Passenger Station, the victim exited the train, at which time the suspect followed him off the train and cut him with a knife.  The victim sustained a laceration on his abdomen.  LA CO Fire responded and treated the victim for a superficial wound to his abdomen. The suspect was arrested.

Domestic Violence - Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Long Beach Metro Passenger Station regarding a domestic violence call for service. Upon arriving, deputies contacted the female adult (victim), who told them she and a male adult (suspect) started arguing on the platform. The suspect then put both his hands on the victim’s neck, choking her, for approximately 3-5 seconds.  The suspect then ran downstairs, toward the west side parking lot.  The victim stated that she never lost consciousness.  Deputy personnel searched the area for the suspect and located him hiding behind a pillar, covered in a blanket.  The suspect was arrested.

Trespassing – Suspect in Custody

TSB Deputies responded to Norwalk Metro Passenger station regarding a Trespassing on Metro property call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted Inter-Con Security, who was already detaining an adult male (Suspect). Inter-Con security stated the suspect was smoking and loitering on the platform.  Inter-Con security ordered the suspect to leave the location, at which time he became irate and, without provocation, brandished a pocketknife and threatened to stab them.  Inter-Con Security used pepper spray on the suspect, causing him to drop the knife.  Inter-Con security was able to detain the suspect pending the arrival of Deputy personnel.  The suspect was arrested.

Trespassing – Suspect in Custody

TSB Deputies Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Norwalk Metro Passenger station regarding a Trespassing on Metro property call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted Inter-Con Security, who was already detaining an adult male (Suspect). Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Firearm) – Suspect in Custody

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Artesia Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted three victims, who said they were sitting on a bus bench when an adult male (suspect) rode up to them on an electric bicycle and pointed a handgun at them for unknown reasons.   The suspect subsequently put the gun away, rode his bike onto the platform, and boarded a southbound train.  TSB Deputies conducted a search of the area and additional Metro stations. Deputies located the suspect near the Del Amo Metro Passenger Station and detained the suspect pending an assault with a deadly weapon investigation. The victims positively identified the suspect as the person who pointed a firearm at them and caused them to fear for their safety.  The suspect was arrested.  During a search of the suspect, an airsoft handgun was recovered on his person.

Traffic Collision on Metro Property

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook Avenue and 120th south of the Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station for a traffic collision call for service. The driver of a compact vehicle lost control of his vehicle and collided with a small pole on the east curb of the roadway. The car then crashed into a 3-barrier pole at the pedestrian crossing south of Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station. California Highway Patrol responded and conducted a traffic collision investigation. The driver and his passenger were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. A Metro supervisor estimated the cost to replace the poles at $600.00. A bus/rail incident report was written to document the damage to Metro property.

October 11, 2024

Grand Theft (Copper Wire)- Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Slauson Metro Passenger Station regarding a Grand Theft call for service. Deputies contacted a Metro Supervisor, who stated that at approximately 0400 hours, they received an alarm activation for metal theft. During the investigation, it was discovered that unknown suspects stole approximately 60 feet of copper wire. There was no suspect description. The supervisor estimated the cost of replacing the copper wire to be $4,552. The suspect is still outstanding.

Metro Train Versus Vehicle Traffic Collision

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the intersection of 3rd and Woods Ave in the City of East Los Angeles regarding a traffic collision involving a Metro Train and Vehicle. The Metro train was out of service, no passengers were on board except the train conductor. A vehicle traveling southbound collided with the train. Neither the sole occupant of the vehicle nor Train Operator sustained any injuries or complained of any pain.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Nadeau Street Crossing in the City of Los Angeles, between Firestone and Florence Metro Passenger Station, regarding a Grand Theft call for service.  Metro received a false occupancy alarm at the indicated location.  TSB Desk received a phone call from a Metro supervisor who responded to the location of the alarm and reported that approximately twelve feet of copper wire was stolen from the tracks at the Nadeau Street Crossing.  There was no suspect description.  The supervisor estimated the cost of replacing the copper wire to be $1800.  The suspect is still outstanding.

Sexual Assault

A TSB Deputy responded to Pasadena City College regarding a sexual assault call for service. Upon arrival Pasadena City College Police Officers had detained the suspect after a use of force had occurred with campus police. The victim informed the Deputy the suspect sexually assaulted him on the bus and followed him onto the College Campus.  Fire personnel were requested and responded; however, the victim refused medical attention. The suspect was arrested for sexual battery and transported to Pasadena Police Department Jail and booked.

October 09, 2024

Trespassing

TSB Deputies responded Willowbrook Passanger Station regarding a male adult (suspect) on the platform refusing to leave. Upon Deputies arrival they observed the suspect was unconscious. As Deputies turned the suspect on his side to ensure he was breathing, they observed a firearm in the suspects waistband. Deputies removed the weapon and saw it was loaded. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to provide medical aid to the suspect who was still unconscious. The suspect was transported to Martin Luther King Hospital in stable condition. The suspect was later released from the hospital and transported, booked at a station jail for Possession of a concealed loaded firearm.

Persons Deceased

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Lakewood Metro Passenger Station regarding a medical call for service.  Upon Deputies and the Los Angeles County (LA) Fire Department’s arrival, an unknown male adult was found unconscious and possibly overdosing.  LA County Fire personnel administered Narcan to the male; however, it had no effect on him.  LA County Fire personnel administered other life saving measures.  LA County Fire personnel pronounced the male deceased at the scene.  The Los Angeles Coroner’s Department responded and took control of the scene.  The cause of death is unknown.    

Battery on Metro Security – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Compton Metro Passenger Station regarding a trespassing call for service.  Deputies arrived and contacted Metro Security (victim), who detained an adult male (suspect).  The victim told Deputies the suspect was being escorted off the platform due to his level of intoxication.  While being escorted through the turnstiles, the suspect turned and spat at the victim, striking him in the face. The Compton Fire Department responded to the location and treated the victim for the liquid contact.  The victim refused any further medical evaluation. The Compton Fire personnel also evaluated the suspect for his intoxication.  The suspect was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation due to his history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and current state of intoxication.  The suspect was arrested.

Robbery – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies respond to Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard in the city of Beverly Hills regarding a robbery call for service.  Deputies arrived on the scene and contacted an adult female (victim) who stated she and an adult male (suspect) were traveling on the bus when the suspect forcefully took a bag of food from the victim’s hands.  The suspect, who was holding a pair of scissors in his hand, caused some small lacerations to the victim’s right hand.  The victim attempted to confront the suspect; at which time the suspect pointed the scissors at the victim in a threatening manner.  The suspect exited the bus and fled on foot; however, he was quickly located and detained by Beverly Hills PD.  The victim positively identified the suspect.  The suspect was arrested for the indicated charge.  Beverly Hills Fire responded and treated the victim for injuries to her right hand; she declined to be transported for further treatment. 

Suspicious Package

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the El Monte Terminal regarding a suspicious package call for service.  TSB received a call for a standalone black bag located near a high-voltage area on the lower level of the bus terminal between Bus Bay 3 and 4.  Deputies arrived on the scene, evacuated the terminal, and radioed for a bomb unit to respond.  TSB K9 Sergeant and K9 Deputy, responded.  While TSB K9 units were responding, an adult female transient arrived and claimed ownership of the black bag.  The female transient took possession of her property, and the terminal was re-opened for bus service.

Sexual Battery – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Fillmore Metro Passenger Station regarding a Sexual Battery call for service.  Deputies contacted a female adult (victim) who stated she was on the northbound train when the suspect sat beside her.  The male adult (suspect) grabbed the victim’s breast and rubbed her thigh.  The victim exited the train and ran off the platform to a safe location.  The victim was not injured and declined any medical attention.  Deputies searched the area for the suspect but met with negative results.

Battery – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Florence Avenue and Lakewood Boulevard in the city of Downey regarding a battery call for service.  Deputies arrived and contacted a male adult (Victim), who stated that while singing on the bus, a male adult (suspect) approached him and threw a cup of iced coffee in his face, saying, “Nobody feels how you feel.”  The suspect exited the bus and fled southbound on Lakewood Boulevard.  The victim complained of pain on his face.  Downey Fire responded; however, the victim refused any medical treatment and was released.  The suspect is outstanding.

Assault on Metro Security – Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Downtown Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station, regarding an Assault on Metro Security personnel. Deputies arrived and contacted Metro Security (victim) who stated a male adult (suspect) was attempting to board a Metro train without paying the fare. The suspect was told to pay for his fare or leave the property. The suspect became angered and assaulted the victim by punching him in the face. The victim defended himself by punching back. The victim also used pepper spray and a baton to overcome the suspects’ resistance. Additional Metro Security personnel assisted and were able to overcome the suspect’s resistance and place him into handcuffs. The suspect was arrested.

Possession of a Weapon (Sword) on Transit Property – Suspect Arrested

TSB deputies responded to Slauson Metro Passenger Station for reports of an individual brandishing a machete on the platform call for service. Upon arrival, deputies located a male adult (suspect) in possession of a large sword. The suspect was detained without further incident. The suspect was arrested.

Train Vs. Vehicle – Vehicle Driver Injured

TSB Deputies respond to 3^rd street/Ditman Avenue in the city of East Los Angeles regarding a train vs. vehicle traffic collision. Upon arrival Deputies contacted the train operator who stated a Black Honda, made a southbound turn from 3^rd Street in front of the train causing a collision. After the train and the vehicle collided, the train derailed off the tracks. The train had numerous passengers onboard who at the time of this incident did not complain of any pain or injury. The patrons were offloaded and boarded a Metro bus.  The driver was treated by LA County Fire and transported to a local hospital for unknown injuries. The train service was disrupted until the investigation was completed and Metro personnel attended to the derailed train. The traffic report will be completed by the California Highway Patrol Office.

Assault on Bus Operator – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Atlantic Boulevard/Live Oak Street, in the city of Cudahy regarding an assault on a bus operator call for service. Upon arrival Deputies contacted the bus operator (victim) who stated a male adult (suspect) was yelling and screaming asking for help on the bus. The bus

operator pulled the bus over at the above location to check on the welfare of the suspect. The bus operator stepped out from behind his safety enclosed area to talk to the suspect. The suspect without warning pushed the operator into the safety barrier causing the bus operator to fall toward the operator’s seat. The suspect exited the bus in an unknown direction and out of view. The victim was treated on scene by LA County Fire however refused transportation to a local hospital. The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Cane) – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputy was flagged down by a male adult (victim) who stated that he was struck in the head with a cane by an unknown male adult (suspect) while waiting on the train. The victim was bleeding from his left ear. Responding Deputies searched for the suspect but were unable to locate him. LA County Fire responded and treated the victim who was transported to a local hospital. The suspect is still outstanding.

Domestic Battery – Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to El Centro Avenue/Orange Grove Avenue, in the city of Pasadena regarding a domestic battery call for service. Deputies arrived and contacted both male and female adult (suspect/victim) who were in a dating relationship. Deputies contacted witnesses who stated they observed suspect/victims involved in an argument which quickly escalated into a violent physical confrontation. Neither male nor female suspect/victim sustained any visible injuries. The female suspect/victim told Deputies she ingested fentanyl before their contact at which time she was transported to local hospital for further medical evaluation. Both suspect/victims were arrested.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Del Mar Metro Passenger Station, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Deputies contacted a female adult (victim) who stated she was on the platform waiting on the train when a male adult (suspect) approached her and became argumentative. During the argument the suspect picked up a rock and threw it at the victim. The rock caused a laceration to the suspects forehead. LA County Fire responded and transported the victim to local hospital. The suspect fled the area on foot and out of view. The suspect is still outstanding.

Robbery – Suspects Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Norwalk Metro Passenger Station, regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival Deputies contacted a male adult (victim) who stated, while on the train he was approached by two juveniles who asked him a question. While speaking with the Juveniles they forcefully took his cellphone out of his hands. The suspects were detained a short while later by Deputies. The suspects were arrested.

Robbery – Suspects Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station, regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival Deputies contacted a male adult (victim) who stated, while riding the train northbound from Compton Metro Passenger Station, he was approached by five suspects who punched him several times in the face/upper body and forcefully took his cellphone and wallet containing $20 in cash. The victim was extremely intoxicated and was unable to provide any further details about the incident. The victim was treated on scene by LA County Fire and transported to local hospital.  The victim sustained redness, swelling and several abrasions to his face. The suspects are all outstanding.

Domestic Violence – Two Suspects Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Willowbrook Passenger Station regarding a family disturbance call for service. Deputies contacted both parties involved. While conducting their investigation, deputies determined both parties were equally involved. Both parties were arrested. Due to the nature of the call Los Angeles County Fire Department, responded and treated both for non-life-threatening injuries. Both suspects were transported and booked.

Drinking in Public/Open Container – Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies conducted a platform check of the Norwalk Metro Passenger Station. Deputies observed a female adult (suspect) drinking from an open alcoholic container. The deputies approached the suspect to detain and cite her for the open alcohol beverage. While detaining the suspect, a deputy involved, use of force occurred. One of the deputies grabbed both suspects’ arms to place them behind her back. While placing the suspect’s arms behind her back, the suspect flung her arms in an upward forward motion and broke free from the Deputy’s grasp. The Deputies immediately regained control and detained the suspect without further incident.

While the suspect was detained in the backseat of the patrol car, the suspect then began to spit in the direction of the front seat where Deputies were seated. The suspects spit landed on the neck of one of the Deputies.  The suspect was transported to the local hospital for medical evaluation. The Deputy was treated and released. The suspect was arrested and booked at the local Sheriff Station.

Robbery – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded Hawthorne Metro Passenger Station, regarding a robbery call for service. Deputies contacted a female adult (victim) who stated while on the platform she was approached by an unknown male adult (suspect) who without provocation punched her then grabbed her phone. The victim attempted to maintain control of the phone however the suspect produced a pen and slashed the victim across the face. The victim sustained a laceration to the left cheek. The victim was treated on scene by LA County Fire. The suspect fled the location on foot and out of view.

The suspect was released in the field without incident.

Suspicious Person – Suspect Arrested

Assault with a Deadly Weapon– Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Deputies contacted adult female (Victim) who stated that an adult male (Suspect) brandished a handgun while commuting on the train. The Victim further stated an argument between two males started as they approached Wilmington Metro Passenger Station. The suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the other male and towards the direction of the victim.  The victim stated out of fear she yelled at the suspect not to shoot. The suspects left the train and fled westbound. The Suspects was later identified and arrested.

Persons with a knife – Suspect Arrested

While conducting train rides from Artesia Metro Passenger Station to Del Amo Metro Passenger Station, TSB Deputies observed an adult male (suspect) retrieve a concealed kitchen knife from his pants pocket while seated in the middle of the train then placed it in a blue shopping cart between his legs. Deputies detained the suspect pending a dirk or dagger investigation. While being detained a Deputy involved use of force occurred. Deputies were able to maintain control of the suspect and place him in hand cuffs without further incident.  Suspects was arrested.

Vandalism – Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to La Brea Avenue / Regent Street, in the City of Inglewood regarding a vandalism call for service. Deputies contacted the bus operator who stated as he was pulling away from his stop, he saw a male adult (suspect) approach the front door of the bus and attempt to gain access. However, the bus operator refused to open the door. The suspect became agitated and picked up a nearby rock and smashed the driver’s side window of the bus. The damage is estimated at approximately $1,900.00. The suspect was arrested on scene. 

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Unknow Weapon) – Suspect Outstanding

TSB station was notified by Long Beach PD of a person exiting the train a Willow Metro Passenger Station with a stab wound to his lower abdomen. Long Beach PD responded along with Long Beach Fire and transported the adult male (victim) to a local hospital. TSB Deputies responded to the local hospital and contacted the victim who was uncooperative and refused to provide any information regarding the incident and/or injuries. The victim was treated for his injuries and remains in stable condition. 

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to the Double Tree Hotel in El Segundo regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service, that occurred somewhere between Long Beach Metro Passenger Station and Crenshaw Metro Passenger Station. Deputies contacted an adult male (Victim) who stated he observed an adult female (Suspect 1) behaving erratically. The victim began a verbal exchange with suspect 1. The exchange then turned physical when another adult female (Suspect 2) then approached the victim and began to punch him in the face. Suspect 1 then began to also punch the victim in the face and upper body. The victim attempted to defend himself by fighting back.

Another adult male (Suspect 3) observed the fight and started to kick and punch the victim. The victim was able to exit the train at Crenshaw Passenger Station but was not sure if the suspects remained on the train or exited. The victim then left the location.  El Segundo Fire responded to the location to treat the victim. The victim refused medical treatment. The suspects are still outstanding.

Vandalism – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Artesia Metro Bus Stop regarding a vandalism call for service. Deputies contacted the bus operator who stated as he was pulling away from his stop, he saw a male adult (suspect) approach the front door of the bus and punch the glass of the door. The glass shattered and the bus operator stopped the bus. The suspect then fled the location and out of view. The suspect caused approximately $65.99 dollars in damage.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon– Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Long Beach Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Deputies contacted an adult male (Victim) who stated he parked his vehicle in the east parking lot of the Long Beach Passenger Station parking lot. The victim went to the ticket vending machines to put money on his transit access pass card, while his wife and daughters remained inside their vehicle.  While the victim was at the ticket vending machine, an adult male (suspect) approached the vehicle and demanded money.  The wife remained in the car and refused to give the suspect money. 

The suspect became angry and struck their car twice with the metal rod, causing approximately $1,200 in damage.   As the victim returned to his vehicle, he was approached by the suspect and without warning struck him one time on the left side of his face, with an 8-foot-long metal rod that was sharpened at one end, causing an approximate 2-3” puncture wound to his left cheek. The suspect then fled from the location. Assisting deputies responded and relocated the suspect at which time a short foot pursuit ensued. The suspect was arrested. The victim sustained non-life-threatening cuts to his face and was transported to local Hospital for further medical evaluation.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Crenshaw Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies contacted an adult female (Victim) who stated she was approached by a male adult (Suspect) who began punching her in the upper body, face and elbows. The suspect also attempted to strangle her. The suspect fled the location. The victim refused further medical treatment. The suspect is outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon– Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. The call indicated an adult male (suspect) had pulled a steel knife and threatened train riders. Deputies responded and contacted the suspect at which time a Deputy involved use of force occurred. Deputies were able to place the suspect in handcuffs without further incident. LA County Fire responded however the suspect declined medical treatment. Deputies sustained no injuries. Suspects was arrested. 

Replica Gun on Metro Property – Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to 4^th Street/Colorado, Downtown Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station regarding a person with a gun call for service. Upon arrival Deputies contacted Metro security who stated, while conducting train sweeps, they contacted an adult male (Suspect) who appeared to be asleep. While contacting the suspect they noticed what looked like the outline of a gun in the suspect’s pants pocket. Metro security detained the suspect. Deputies inspected the firearm and found it to be a BB gun, not a real firearm. The suspect was arrested.

Spousal Assault – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Hawthorne Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault call for service. Deputies contacted an adult female (Victim) who stated she and her boyfriend (Suspect) were arguing. The argument turned violent when the suspect punched the victim resulting in significant bruising to her left eye. The victim was treated on scene however refused transportation to local hospital. The suspect was located and arrested.

Deceased Person

TSB Deputies responded to 26^th Street/Bergamont Metro Passenger Station regarding a deceased person. Upon arrival Deputies were notified that a Metro supervisor was flagged down by an unknown patron regarding an adult, male laying on the platform. Metro Supervisor attempted to contact the person and found him unresponsive. The male was pronounced deceased. LASD Homicide Detectives were notified and responded to the location. The coroner arrived and took possession of the decedent. No foul play was suspected.

Suspect #2 held the victim down and punched her.  The suspects fled the location toward the platform.  Suspect #1 was seen on CCTV running on the right-of-way and out of view. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment, where she was treated for four non-life-threatening wounds.  The victim was unhoused.  The suspects (seen on CCTV) did not appear to be unhoused.

Deputies contacted a male adult (Victim) who stated while on the bus he got into a verbal argument with an male adult (suspect). The suspect punched the victim several times in the face/upper body and forcefully took his cellphone. The victim sustained redness to the face but refused medical treatment.  The suspect was arrested.

Grand Theft – Suspect(s) Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Centinela Ave/Florence Ave, Inglewood regarding a copper theft call for service. Deputies contacted a Metro Supervisor who stated that unknown suspects cut into a Metro fence line and stole 50 feet of copper wire. The estimated value of the copper wire is $1,500.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspect Outstanding

TSB Deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding a robbery call for service. Deputies contacted a female (Victim) who stated male (suspect) ran up behind the victim and forcefully removed the victim’s cellular phone from her hand and ran off the train and out of view. The Deputies conducted a search of the area for the suspects; however, they were not located.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Box Cutter – Suspect Arrested

TSB deputies responded to El Segundo Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Deputies contacted two adult male (Victims) who stated they were involved in an argument (NFD) with an acquaintance which turned into a physical fight on the platform. During the fight, the suspect fell off the platform and onto the tracks. The suspect then climbed back onto the platform, retrieved a box cutter and swung it at the two victims, causing cuts to their hands. The suspect then fled westbound on El Segundo Boulevard. The suspect was located and arrested. Both victims sustained non-life-threatening cuts to their hands and were transported to local Hospital for further medical evaluation.

Obstruct MTA employee during course of their official duties – Suspect Arrested

TSB Deputies responded to Del Mar Passenger Station regarding a trespassing call for service. Deputies arrive and contact Metro Security Officer (Victim), who stated, they contacted an adult male (suspect) for fare evasion. Metro Security informed the suspect that he needed to leave the area, at which time the suspect walked towards the victim while yelling. The victim, fearing he was about to be assaulted and pepper sprayed the suspect. The victim was not injured during the altercation.   The suspect was treated for irritation to his face by Pasadena Fire. The suspect was arrested and did not possess a valid TAP card.

Bus Versus Pedestrian (Bicycle) – No Injuries

TSB Deputies responded to the intersection of Somerset Boulevard and Lakewood Boulevard in the City of Paramount regarding a traffic collision call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Southland Transit (STI) bus (MTA contracted bus company) operator who stated while pulling away from the bus stop, the bus struck a pedestrian on a bicycle. The pedestrian sustained a small laceration to the elbow.  LA County Fire Department responded, treated/released the pedestrian on scene. STI supervisor responded to the scene. This Traffic collision was documented/taken by Lakewood Sheriff’s Station.

TSB Deputies responded to Monrovia Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault call for service. Deputies contacted an adult male (Victim) who stated the was approached and attacked by another male adult without provocation. The suspect punched the victim and pulled him off the train. The suspect pushed the victim off the platform and the victim fell to the ground. The suspect fled the location. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition pending further medical evaluation.

Assault on a Metro Bus Operator – Suspect in Custody
TSB Deputies were flagged down at El Monte Bus Terminal by a Metro Supervisor (Victim). The victim stated an adult female (Suspect) just assaulted him. Deputies located and arrested the suspect without incident. Arrest Made While conducting platform checks at Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station, TSB Detectives recognized an adult male who was wanted from a robbery incident that occurred on 08/01/24. The suspect was arrested without incident. 08/26 Vehicle Versus Bus Collision TSB Deputies responded to the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Almont Street in the City of Beverly Hills regarding a vehicle vs bus collision. The bus was travelling eastbound on Wilshire Boulevard when it struck the open door of a parked vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the bus and vehicle sustained minor damage. Beverly Hills PD responded to the location and assumed responsibility for the investigation.

Assault – Suspect Outstanding
TSB Deputies responded to the intersection of Alondra Boulevard and Elmbrook Drive in the City of La Mirada regarding an assault call for service. Deputies contacted an adult male (Victim) who stated the bus was full when he boarded. He located a seat with a plastic bag on it, and asked the adult female sitting next to it if she would move the bag. She did not respond, so the victim moved the bag, which caused the female to become upset. Another adult male (Suspect) who was seated nearby approached the victim and began punching him. The suspect exited the bus and fled the location. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition pending further medical evaluation.

Theft – Suspect(s) Outstanding
TSB Deputies responded to the intersection of Artesia Metro Passenger Station regarding a copper wire theft report call for service. Deputies contacted Metro personnel who stated they received an alert at approximately 0315 hours and observed approximately 20 feet of copper wire missing from the track area approximately 300 feet south of the platform. The damage and repair costs were estimated to be approximately $500. 08/24 Assault on Law Enforcement Personnel – Suspect in Custody TSB Deputies were flagged down at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in the City of Santa Monica regarding a disturbance. Deputies contacted a Metro bus operator who stated an adult male (Suspect) was banging on the bus doors, demanding to be let in. The bus was out of service and the operator refused entry to the suspect. When deputies arrived, the suspect stated he wanted to go to jail and without provocation, assaulted a deputy. A use of force occurred. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation prior to booking.

TSB Deputies responded to the intersection of Small Drive and Wilshire Boulevard in the City of Beverly Hills regarding a robbery call for service. Deputies contacted an adult female (Victim) who stated an adult male (Suspect) approached her and threatened to kill her. Fearing for her life, the victim ran to the front of the bus. The suspect took the victim’s purse and exited the bus. Deputies located and arrested the suspect. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Carrying a Concealed Firearm – Suspect Arrested
TSB Deputies responded to El Monte Bus Terminal regarding a person in possession of a firearm call for service. Deputies located and detained an adult male (Suspect) and recovered a firearm from his possession without incident. 08/22 Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding TSB Deputies responded to Compton Metro Passenger regarding an assault call for service. Deputies contacted an adult male (Victim) who stated while navigating through a crowded train, he accidentally bumped into another adult male (Suspect) who became irate and punched the victim several times. The victim stated he fell backward and lost consciousness. The suspect exited the train at Compton and fled the location on foot. The victim refused medical treatment.
