Traffic Collision – Bus Vs. Vehicle

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Long Beach Blvd and Rosecrans Ave., in the city of Compton, regarding an MTA bus vs. vehicle traffic collision on Long Beach Blvd at Rosecrans Ave when it collided with a white Chevrolet Blazer. Compton Fire responded. No injuries were reported on the bus or by the other party involved. The bus and the other vehicle sustained minor damage. Compton Sheriff’s Station will investigate the traffic collision.

Sexual Assault – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the El Monte Bus Terminal regarding a sexual assault call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted a Juvenile female (victim), who said while she was waiting at the lower level of the bus terminal when she was approached by an adult male (suspect) who exposed his penis to the victim at the bus bay. The victim boarded the bus, which the suspect followed. While the bus was in transit, the suspect then grabbed and touched the victim on her left buttock area. The victim was able to flee from the suspect and move toward the front of the bus. The suspect exited the bus on the first stop from the terminal and fled in an unknown direction. The victim went back to school and reported the incident to school officials. The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Willowbrook Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated she was walking and was attacked by four males (suspects) from behind. The victim said during the assault, she was hit with an unknown object.  The victim sustained swelling to her left forearm and the left side of her head.  The Los Angeles County Fire Paramedics provided medical treatment to the victim.  The victim refused to be transported to the hospital.  The suspects were not located.

April 07, 2025

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Culver City Metro Passenger Station regarding a see-the-man report call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown suspect entered the location and stole 80 feet of copper wire. The suspects cut the copper wire from the right-of-way track area and fled the location. The damages and repairs were estimated at $12,000. The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Willowbrook Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies were able to locate and detain an adult male (suspect) at the Kenneth Hahn Plaza just south of the passenger station. Deputies utilizing Close Circuit Television (CCTV) were able to see the incident take place. Due to the victim (an adult male) leaving the location in an unknown direction. CCTV provided a play-by-play of the suspect involved in a fight with the victim and, without provocation, swinging a metal screwdriver at the victim, stabbing the victim on his upper body.  The suspect was arrested for the assault with a deadly weapon.

Assault Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury (GBI) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Compton Ave and Gage Ave., in the city of Los Angeles, regarding an adult male (victim) bleeding from the face.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim, who stated while on the bus, an adult male (suspect) began a verbal altercation with him because the suspect believed the victim was talking about him in Spanish with another passenger.  The suspect confronted the victim and began punching him in the face with both fists. The victim fell to the floor, where the suspect continued to punch the victim, then grabbed him by the neck and began choking him. Once the bus came to a stop, the suspect fled the scene.  The victim did not lose consciousness. 

Assisting units canvassed the area, and with the assistance of Aero, the suspect was located a short distance away.  The suspect was positively identified by witnesses on board the bus at the time of the incident.  The victim sustained significant facial trauma and was treated on scene by Los Angeles County Fire. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.  The suspect was arrested for the assault. 

Grand Theft (Cell Phone) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Florence Ave and Santa Fe Ave., in the city of Huntington Park, regarding a phone snatch.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female adult (victim) who told them she had her cell phone resting in her hand while riding the bus.  As the bus came to a stop, an adult male (suspect) snatched her cell phone out of her hand and ran off the bus.  The suspect was last seen heading southbound from the location and out of view.  Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  The victim was not injured and declined medical treatment.  The suspect is still outstanding.

Battery on Metro Security Officer – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Downtown Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault on Metro Security call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Security Officer (victim), who stated they contacted an adult male (suspect) on the train regarding his failure to have a valid fare ticket to board the train.  During their contact with the suspect, the suspect became angry and took a fighting stance.  The victim and his partner told the suspect to exit the train, but the suspect refused. As the victim and his partner attempted to escort the suspect off the train, the suspect swung his fists toward the victim, at which time a struggle ensued, causing them to fall to the ground.  The victim and his partner were able to subdue the suspect and placed him in handcuffs.  During the struggle, the victim sustained abrasions to his right wrist and arm.  However, he declined medical attention.  The victim was desirous of prosecution and signed a Private Person’s (Citizen’s) Arrest form. The suspect was placed under arrest for the assault.

The victim’s friend attempted to pull the juveniles off her friend, and the victim was able to stand up. subject #1 then pushed the victim onto the tracks.  Fearing the subjects would continue to assault the victim, the female (the victim’s friend) produced a knife and ordered the subjects to leave the victim alone.  Deputies detained all parties and subsequently arrested subjects #1 and #2 for the indicated charge.  The victim sustained bruising on his face, several abrasions on his arms, and a possible fractured wrist.  Los Angeles County Fire responded and treated the victim on scene.  The victim refused further medical attention.  The subjects were arrested.

April 02, 2025

Possible Sexual Assault – No Suspect Information

Transit Services Bureau Deputy responded to the local Medical Center regarding a possible rape report call for service.  Upon the Deputy’s arrival, he contacted a female adult (victim), who reported she was raped and sodomized while on a metro bus in Santa Monica.  The victim was very uncooperative with Department personnel, refusing to provide details of the incident, including bus identification, to aid in the investigation.  The victim further refused any medical examination by medical center staff. The Deputy investigator observed no visible injuries to the victim, and no related calls for service were received.  The description of the suspect is currently unknown. 

April 02, 2025

Battery – Suspect Arrested

The Transit Service Bureau deputy responded to a local hospital regarding a battery report call for service.  Upon his arrival, he contacted an adult male (victim) who stated he was pepper sprayed by an unknown adult male wearing a black gator covering his face while riding a metro bus.  An additional victim was contacted at another local Hospital who also reported being pepper sprayed while sitting near the first victim and reported being punched one time on his face.  A search for the suspect was met with negative results.

March 31, 2025

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Downtown Santa Monica 4th Street Metro Passenger Station regarding a meeting with the Santa Monica Police Department call for service.  Upon their arrival, Deputies personnel learned Santa Monica PD had detained an adult male (suspect) on the platform following an altercation with another individual.  Upon further investigation and review of CCTV footage, personnel learned the suspect and an adult male (victim) were in an argument, leading to a physical altercation. During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim in the torso.  A weapon was recovered at the location.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital in stable condition. The suspect complained of pain in his head and was also transported to a separate local hospital for medical clearance.

March 30, 2025

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau Deputies responded to the Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated that an adult male (suspect) approached him on the train and instructed the victim not to record him with his cell phone.  The suspect then, without provocation, swung a metal pipe at the victim, striking the victim on his left arm, causing redness and bruising. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.  The suspect was arrested.

March 29, 2025

Urinating in Public/MTA Security Pepper Spray – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau Deputies responded to the Westchester/Veterans Metro Passenger Station regarding a male adult threatening to fight a metro security call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro security officer (victim), who stated that an adult male (suspect) was seen urinating on Metro property. When asked to leave the premises, the suspect became agitated and attempted to punch the victim. The victim thus deployed his pepper spray, which contacted the suspect. The suspect was subsequently arrested for indecent exposure, trespassing, and challenging to fight. The suspect was transported to the local Hospital for further medical evaluation due to pepper spray exposure.

Traffic Collision – Bus Vs. Motorcycle

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Eastern Ave and Washington Blvd. in the city of Commerce regarding an MTA bus vs. motorcycle traffic collision on Eastern Avenue. The bus, traveling northbound, collided with the motorcycle. Los Angeles County Fire responded. The motorcyclist suffered a right-hand injury but refused hospital transport. No injuries were reported on the bus. The bus sustained unknown damage, while the motorcycle was heavily damaged. East Los Angeles Sheriff Station will investigate.

March 25, 2025

Vandalism – Suspect Cited

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the 26th Street Metro Passenger Station regarding a vandalism call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro supervisor (party), who stated that a closed-circuit television (CCTV) observer observed an adult male (suspect) tampering with the steel handrails of the station and damaging Metro Transit property. The suspect left the location on foot. Deputies searched the area and detained a suspect, whom the CCTV witness had positively identified. The suspect was arrested for misdemeanor vandalism and cited out in the field on a written promise to appear. The damage and repairs were estimated at $400.00.

March 24, 2025

Battery on MTA Operator – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 5th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard in the city of Santa Monica regarding an assault on an MTA bus operator call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the bus operator (victim), who stated that upon arriving at the 5th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard bus stop, she had the driver barrier door open and was talking with another driver (trainee) who she was teaching, when an adult male (suspect) approached the front of the bus. The suspect tried to exit the bus. However, the barrier door was open, so the suspect pushed it closed, causing it to hit the operator.  The suspect was detained and arrested without further incident for the assault. The victim did not have any visible injuries and refused medical treatment. 

March 23, 2025

Persons Deceased

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the El Monte Bus Terminal regarding a person’s dead call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the bus operator (witness), who stated that after arriving at the El Monte Bus Terminal, the operator noticed one of his passengers, an adult male (patient), appeared to be hiding underneath a bus seat.  Deputies contacted the patient and noticed he was unconscious and not breathing.  The deputies attempted CPR and gave the patient Narcan, which was not effective. The patient remained unconscious. The Los Angeles County Fire Department Paramedics arrived and began CPR on the patient. The Paramedics pronounced the patient.  Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau was notified.  The Los Angeles County Coroner responded.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 92nd Street and Graham Avenue in the city of Los Angeles regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had cut and stolen 50 feet of copper wire. The supervisor could not provide a date/time when the copper was last there.  No suspect information was provided. The damage and repairs were estimated at $3,500.00.

Battery – Suspects Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Metro Passenger Station regarding a possible battery call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted three juveniles (victim 1/2/3) who stated they were being followed by two adult males (suspects 1 & 2) from a local skate park.  Both Suspects 1 & 2 harassed the two female victims 1 & 2 by repeatedly asking them out on a date while walking from the park to the train station.  While victims 1 & 2 were on the platform, suspect 1 approached victims 1 & 2 and punched both in the face.  The male victim 3 intervened and suspect 1 and victim 3 got into a brief physical altercation.  Both suspects 1 & 2 left the platform and walked northbound and out of view.  Deputies saw bruises and swellings on the cheeks of victims 1 & 2, as well as an abrasion on the forearm of victim 1.  All the victims declined medical treatment.  The suspects are still outstanding.

March 13, 2025

Traffic Collision Bus Vs. Vehicle – No Injuries

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Tweedy Ave and State St. in the city of Lynwood regarding a vehicle vs Metro Transit Authority (MTA) bus collision call for service.  A Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Suburban collided in the intersection, causing the Suburban to roll over and collide with the Metro bus.  There were approximately 10 passengers onboard the bus.  None of the passengers nor the bus operator were injured.  The Metro bus sustained damage to the front left windshield and pillar. Century Sheriff Station will investigate the traffic collision.

Possession with a Firearm – Suspect Cited

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Avalon Blvd. and El Segundo Bl. in the city of Los Angeles regarding a person in possession with a gun.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro bus operator, who stated an adult male (suspect) boarded her bus and cursed at her.  The Bus Operator remembered the suspect from a previous encounter and noticed the suspect holding a gun.  The bus operator notified the dispatch to report the suspect and the incident. Deputy personnel arrived on the scene and cleared the bus of all passengers.  The suspect was detained and later arrested without incident. The suspect was found to be in possession of a toy gun and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was cited for possession of a toy gun and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was also cited for delaying bus operations. 

Robbery (knife) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Hawthorne Metro Passenger Station regarding a robbery that just occurred call for service. Upon arrival Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated he entered Hawthorne Metro Passenger Station’s east entrance and was approached by an adult male (suspect) who pointed a knife at him and demanded his cell phone. Out of fear for his safety the victim handed over his cell phone and ran away to a nearby Mc. Donalds where he flagged down Hawthorne Police officers.  A search for the suspect was conducted but met with negative results. The suspect is still outstanding.

March 12, 2025

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies advised about a felony assault that occurred at the Fillmore Metro Passenger Station.  Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated he was on a southbound Metro train when he was approached by an adult male (suspect) who asked the victim to use his cell phone.  The victim refused to loan the suspect his cell phone, so the suspect became irate.  As the victim exited the train at Fillmore Metro Passenger Station, the suspect threw a plastic bottle at the victim.  The suspect then proceeded to punch the victim 20-30 times over the face and upper torso.  The suspect also struck the victim over the head with an unknown object, causing a laceration on the victim’s forehead.  The suspect left the location on foot and out of view.  The victim sustained several lacerations on his head and face.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Whittier Blvd and Orme Ave, in the city of East Los Angeles, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro bus operator, who stated she heard an argument between an adult male (victim) and a person in a wheelchair (unknown). The bus operator further stated that she stopped the bus at Whittier Blvd and Orme Ave and observed an adult male (suspect) pistol-whip the victim. The suspect exited the bus and walked eastbound on Whittier Blvd, out of view. The bus operator continued traveling eastbound, and the victim exited the bus at Whittier Blvd and Ditman Ave. The victim left in an unknown direction. The bus operator did not observe any injuries to the victim. A search for the suspect, victim, and additional witnesses was conducted but met with negative results.

March 11, 2025

Traffic Collision Bus Vs. Vehicle – No Injuries

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Telegraph Rd and Colima Rd. in the city of Whitter regarding a vehicle vs Metro Transit Authority (MTA) bus collision call for service.  The bus was traveling eastbound on Telegraph Rd approaching Colima Rd when it collided with a white van traveling northbound on Colima Rd. Minor injuries were reported; drivers and bus passengers were transported to the local hospital for further treatment.  The MTA Supervisor and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene. CHP will investigate the traffic collision.

Vandalism – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Compton Metro Passenger Station regarding a vandalism call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Metro Security, who stated they observed an adult male (suspect) spray painting Metro property. The suspect left the location on foot. Deputies searched the area and detained a suspect who matched the description provided. A field identification was conducted, and the witness positively identified the suspect. The suspect was arrested. The Metro Supervisor responded and estimated the damage to be approximately $1,000.

March 06, 2025

Person Deceased

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the El Monte Metro Bus Terminal regarding an adult male onboard a Foothill Transit bus in cardiac arrest.  When deputies arrived, the Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were conducting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).  The male did not regain consciousness and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  There were no signs of trauma or foul play.  The cause of death is unknown.  The Los Angeles County Coroner responded and took possession of the deceased male.  The Foothill Transit bus was cleared to resume regular services.  There were no disruptions to Metro services, and no media inquiries were received.

Person Deceased

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the El Monte Metro Bus Terminal regarding an adult male onboard a Foothill Transit bus in cardiac arrest.  When deputies arrived, the Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were conducting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).  The male did not regain consciousness and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  There were no signs of trauma or foul play.  The cause of death is unknown.  The Los Angeles County Coroner responded and took possession of the deceased male.  The Foothill Transit bus was cleared to resume regular services.  There were no disruptions to Metro services, and no media inquiries were received.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Metro Passenger Train Station regarding a battery just occurred call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim), who stated that without provocation, he was attacked by an adult male (suspect) while riding the train.  Deputies contacted and detained the suspect. The victim positively identified the suspect as the person who attacked him.  The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACFD) responded to provide medical assistance, which the victim denied.  During the detention, a use of force occurred.  LACFD transported the suspect to a local hospital for further evaluation. The suspect was arrested.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Compton Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) and a female adult (witness) who stated an adult male (suspect) assaulted the victim on the platform. The suspect pushed the victim off the platform and onto the tracks. The suspect then jumped down onto the tracks and started throwing rocks at the victim. The Victim fled the platform, and the suspect followed him. The suspect then stabbed the victim in the back. The suspect fled the location and out of view. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation, where he is listed in stable condition.  Deputies searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate. The suspect is still outstanding.

Lewd Conduct in Public – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Florence Avenue and Paramount Boulevard in the city of Downey, regarding an indecent exposure call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies were flagged down by bus patrons.  The patrons pointed out the suspect, who was seated inside the bus.  Deputies were able to detain the suspect pending an indecent exposure investigation.  During the investigation, Deputies learned that an adult female (victim) observed an adult male (suspect) masturbating while on the bus.  The suspect was arrested for lewd conduct in public. It was later determined that the suspect was on active probation for burglary and was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation.  

Robbery – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Hawthorne Boulevard and Imperial Highway in the city of Hawthorne, regarding a possible robbery that had just occurred call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who told them while riding the bus, she was involved in an argument with an adult male (suspect.)  The suspect pushed her and then grabbed her cell phone.  The victim attempted to maintain her grip on her phone but, out of fear, let go of the phone, and the suspect took it.  The bus operator intervened and told the suspect to give the victim her phone.  The suspect then threw the phone onto the floor, causing it to shatter.  The suspect exited the bus and was last seen heading eastbound from the location and out of view.  Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect is still outstanding.

Willful Cruelty to a Child – Suspects Cited

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Compton Metro Passenger Station regarding a trespassing call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Metro Transit Authority (MTA) Security (Suspect/Victim), who told them she had observed a male juvenile (Subject/Victim) walking on the tracks and up onto the platform.  MTA Security approached the juvenile to conduct a trespassing on the posted property investigation. During the investigation, the juvenile threw trash on the ground, at which time MTA Security told the juvenile to pick it up, but he refused.  MTA Security attempted to detain the juvenile to place him under citizens’ arrest at which time a struggle ensued, and the juvenile was placed in handcuffs, and law enforcement was called. 

Deputies contacted the juvenile, who told them MTA Security approached him, asked him a couple of questions, and then, without provocation, attacked him.  Deputies observed multiple injuries on the juvenile.  The juvenile was treated and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. The juvenile mother arrived and wanted to place MTA Security under citizen’s arrest for child abuse.

MTA Security was cited and released, the juvenile was cited and released, and the juvenile’s mother was also cited and released

Robbery – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 169th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard in the city of Hawthorne regarding a robbery that had just occurred in a call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted a male adult (victim) who stated while riding the bus, he was approached by a male adult (suspect) who stated he had a gun and demanded the victim send him $1000.00 via PayPal.  The victim, fearing for his safety, complied and sent the money.  The suspect exited the bus and was last seen southbound from the location and out of view.  The victim said he was not injured and refused medical treatment.  Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  The suspect is still outstanding.

Sexual Assault – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) desk contacted a Juvenile female (victim) and her mother in the lobby of the station to report being a victim of a sexual assault.  The victim said while she was seated on a Metro Transit Authority (MTA) Bus at Compton Boulevard and Willowbrook Avenue in the city of Compton.  A male adult (suspect) sat down next to the victim on the bus and began to show her a video from his phone.  The suspect then grabbed the victim and touched her on her buttock area.  The victim was able to flee from the suspect and seek help from the bus driver. However, the bus driver did not provide any assistance.  The victim exited the bus and called her mother.  The victim and her mother came into the Rail Operations lobby to report the incident.  Although the victim was not injured, she was still examined by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The suspect is still outstanding.

Battery on Metro Contracted Security (Inter-Con) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Downtown Santa Monica Metro Platform Station regarding a battery on the Metro Contracted Security (Inter-Con) call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Metro Contract Security Officers (victim), who stated they were at the Santa Monica platform when they observed an adult male (suspect) enter through the emergency gate and began smoking. They approached the suspect and requested that he exit the platform. The suspect then flicked the cigarette at one of the officers, striking the officer in the chest. Security officers detained the suspect, and during the detention, the suspect attempted to throw feces at them. Deputy personnel requested TSB MET, and the Santa Monica Fire Department respond.  The suspect was transported to a local hospital and placed on a mental evaluation hold.

Theft – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the ROC station lobby regarding a theft call for service. Upon arrival, dispatch informed deputies that an adult male (suspect) had entered the lobby, activated the fire alarm, and stolen a package that was located on the counter. With the assistance of dispatch, the deputies were able to locate and detain the suspect. The stolen package was recovered, and the suspect was arrested.

Battery on Metro Contracted Security (Inter-Con) – Suspect Arrested

Grand Theft – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Florence Metro Passenger Station regarding a possible theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated she was approached by several suspects (two adult females and one juvenile female) who asked her if they could play with her puppy. The victim allowed the suspects to play with her puppy as they rode the train.  The victim further stated she asked for her puppy back because she was going to exit the train, at which time the suspects told the victim they would exit with her.  The victim proceeded to exit the train, but the suspects remained on the train as it departed.  No injuries were reported.  A search for the suspects was conducted but met with negative results.

Vandalism – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Garfield Avenue and Imperial Highway in the city of South Gate regarding a vandalism call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the bus operator (victim), who stated an adult male (suspect) threw a tequila bottle at the windshield of the bus, causing the glass to crack. The suspect then picked up a rock and threw the rock at a second bus, causing the windshield to crack.  The suspect fled westbound on Imperial Hwy and out of view.  No injuries were reported.  A search for the suspect was conducted but met with negative results.

Attempted Robbery – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Century Boulevard and Prairie Avenue in the city of Inglewood. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted a juvenile male (victim) who said he was traveling westbound on the metro bus when he was approached by an adult male (suspect) who reached out and grabbed the victim’s bus tap card.  The victim was able to hold on to his tap card after a brief struggle with the suspect.  The victim attempted to flee; however, the suspect restrained the victim by placing him in a headlock and stepping on his feet, preventing the victim from fleeing. The victim sustained soreness around the neck area and lower extremities.  The victim refused to be transported for medical evaluation.  The suspect was arrested.

Traffic Collision - Train vs Vehicle

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Colorado Boulevard and Lincoln Boulevard regarding a traffic collision call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies observed a Metro train colliding with a 2021 White Nissan. The Santa Monica Fire Department responded and evaluated the situation. Neither party involved sustained any injury or complained of pain. The Santa Monica Police Department responded to the location and will investigate the traffic collision.

Suspicious Circumstances – Party transported

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Artesia Metro Passenger Station regarding a disturbance call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted Metro contracted security (inter-Con) (informant), who stated she contacted an adult male (party) sleeping on the sidewalk near the bus bay.  The security officer noticed the party was not wearing pants, and his genitals were exposed. The security officer stated she was offended but would not provide additional information and became uncooperative with Deputies.  Deputies contacted the party pending an indecent exposure investigation.  

The party stated he was sick, soiled his pants, and had to remove them. Deputies also noticed the party had bodily fluids around him.  Compton Fire Department responded and transported the party to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.  TSB MET personnel responded to the hospital and interviewed the party.  The incident was documented as a suspicious circumstance, possible indecent exposure.

February 24, 2025

Felon in Possession of Weapon on Transit (BB Gun) – Suspect Arrested

While conducting train sweeps at the Norwalk Metro Passenger Station, Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies observed an adult male (suspect) sleeping inside the train. As Deputies tapped the suspect on the leg to wake him, he felt the butt end of a firearm in the suspect’s pant cargo pocket. The suspect was immediately detained and removed from the train. While conducting a search of the suspect, a BB gun was recovered from the suspect’s pants cargo pocket. The suspect was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed the suspect was on active probation. The suspect was arrested for the above incident.

February 23, 2025

Robbery (Bodily Force) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to El Monte Bus Terminal in the city of El Monte regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated while she was waiting for a bus, an adult female (suspect) approached her and engaged in conversation. After a brief conversation, the victim began to walk away from the suspect. The suspect then approached the victim from behind and, punched the victim on the ear and took her ear pods. The suspect left the location southbound and out of view. A search for the suspect was conducted but met with negative results. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics but refused to be transported to the hospital. The suspect is still outstanding.

 Assault on Metro Passenger (Pepper Spray) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Magnolia Boulevard and Victory Boulevard in the city of Burbank regarding an assault call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male and an adult female (suspect). The couple was verbally arguing on the bus when a third-party adult female (Victim) observed the argument. The victim told the couple to stop arguing or exit the bus. The suspect became upset and produced a can of pepper spray as she began to argue with the victim. The suspect then sprayed the victim on the shoulder. The victim, in self-defense, produced a can of pepper spray and sprayed in the direction of the suspect. A fellow bus passenger stated she observed the incident and corroborated the victim’s account. The victim was desirous of prosecution and signed a private person’s arrest. All parties said they were not injured at the time of the incident.

Battery of Transit Person – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding a battery just occurred call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who told them he became involved in an argument with an acquaintance, an adult male (Suspect) on the platform.  The victim said the suspect punched him once in the face and then sprayed him with pepper spray.  Deputies located the suspect and detained him.  The suspect admitted to punching and pepper spraying. The victim sustained redness and swelling to his lip.  Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was further evaluated for his injuries.

During their investigation, Deputies discovered the suspect was on parole for robbery, which prohibits him from carrying pepper spray.  The suspect was charged with the above crimes.

February 22, 2025

Vandalism – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard in the city of West Hollywood regarding a Vandalism to a bus call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the operator, who stated that he heard a loud bang on the driver’s side front window while pulling out of the parking lot and noticed the window was shattered.  The operator observed only one person standing on the sidewalk near the bus. The person of interest was described as an adult male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The person of interest left the location in an unknown direction.  Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the person of interest. The MTA supervisor estimated the cost of repairs to be $1476.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 92nd Street & Graham Avenue in the city of Los Angeles regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had cut and stolen copper wire. The damage and repairs were estimated at 2,000.00.

February 18, 2025

Possible Assault with a Deadly weapon – Suspect Unknow

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Lake Metro Passenger Station regarding a possible assault with a deadly weapon call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the train operator (informant), who stated an unknown male (victim) approached him and stated that he had been stabbed on the train by unknown persons (possible suspect). The victim was unable to provide any additional information about the incident. The victim was last seen exiting the platform at Lake Metro Passenger Station. Deputies checked CCTV and searched the area but could not locate the incident, victim, or suspect.

Traffic Collision- One Injured

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Orr and Day Road & Telegraph Road in the city of Whittier regarding a traffic collision call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the MTA Bus Operator (victim), who stated the bus was traveling westbound on Telegraph Road when it was rear-ended by a work truck, causing minor damage to the bus.  One bus passenger was transported to a local hospital via ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. Whitter Police Department will investigate the traffic collision.

Battery on MTA Bus Operator (Hands) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Tamcliff Avenue and Victornia Street in the city of Carson regarding a battery on an MTA Bus Operator. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Bus Operator (victim), who stated an adult male (suspect) became irate after being told to exit the bus. The suspect punched the operator in the chest and then took a seat at the back of the bus. Deputies boarded the train and took the suspect into custody without further incident. The operator was not injured and refused medical attention on scene.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 119th Street and Willowbrook Avenue in the city of Los Angeles regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had cut and stolen 24 feet of copper wire. The damage and repairs were estimated at 1,200.00.

Robbery

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Long Beach Metro Passenger Station regarding a robbery call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated that while standing on the platform, an adult male (suspect) approached him and started a conversation with him.  The victim and suspect began arguing about the military and became involved in a physical fight.  During the fight, the victim said his backpack containing tools and other items ($300 value) fell onto the platform.  The suspect picked up the backpack and ran down the stairs, out of view.  The victim was very intoxicated and could not provide any additional information. The victim said he was not injured and refused medical treatment.  Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  The suspect is still outstanding.

Trespassing on MTA Property / Fugitive – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Hawthorne Metro Passenger Station regarding a male trespassing on the tracks call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male(suspect).  The suspect appeared agitated, throwing objects and jumping on and off the platform onto the right of way of the tracks, disrupting train operations. TSB Deputies located and detained the male pending a trespassing investigation.  While detained, Deputies, using department-issued equipment, discovered the male had a full extradition warrant out of Mississippi for failing to register as a sex offender.  Deputies contacted the police agency in Mississippi, and they agreed to extradite the suspect.  The suspect was arrested and awaited his extradition.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 119th Street in the city of Los Angeles regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had cut and stolen 33 feet of copper wire. The damage and repairs were estimated at $25,000.00.

Vandalism – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Colorado Avenue & 5th Street in the city of Santa Monica regarding a Vandalism to a bus call for service.  Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the bus operator, who stated an adult male (suspect) became upset after she denied his advances for a date.  The bus operator told the suspect, who was carrying a plastic crate, to exit the bus due to being at the last stop.  Upon exiting the bus, the suspect hit the window of the bus door with his crate, causing it to crack.  The suspect attempted to leave the area but was located and arrested.  The Metro Supervisor estimated the damage to the bus door to be $280.00.  The suspect did not threaten the bus operator.

February 11, 2025

Elder Abuse – Suspects Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Norwalk Boulevard & Rosecrans Avenue, in the city of Norwalk, regarding a battery just occurred call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who stated that several teens, two juvenile males and one juvenile female (subjects), were loud and boisterous on board the bus. The victim, an elderly male, asked the subjects to be quiet while on the bus, and a verbal altercation ensued between the victim and the subjects. The victim was punched in the face several times by the subjects.  Upon the bus coming to a stop, the subjects exited the bus and fled in an unknown direction and out of view. The victim sustained swelling and lacerations to his cheek and forehead. The Los Angeles County Fire Department treated the victim on scene and was transported to the local Hospital for further treatment/evaluation. The subjects are still outstanding.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Del Amo Metro Passenger Station regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had cut and stolen 20 feet of copper wire. The damage and repairs were estimated at $25,000.00.

Petty Theft – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Willowbrook Bus Layover regarding a theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted The Bus Operator (Victim), who stated an adult male (suspect) entered his parked bus and stole his Metro jacket, which was in the driver’s seat.  The suspect exited the bus and ran towards the Willowbrook platform, where TSB Deputy personnel detained him.  The victim’s jacket was recovered, and the suspect was arrested.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Nadeau Street (South A-line) regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that an unknown person had cut and stolen 15 feet of copper wire. The damage and repairs were estimated at $1550.00.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Hawthorne Boulevard and Imperial Highway in the city of Hawthorne regarding an assault with a deadly weapon (ADW) call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Hawthorne Police Department, which was already on the scene. They stated an adult male (victim) and a juvenile male (suspect) started arguing with him over seating on the bus. During the argument, the suspect pulled out a knife, pointed it at the victim, and stated, “I will stab you.” Upon the bus coming to a stop, both the suspect and victim exited the bus. Hawthorne Police Department assisted with detaining the suspect without incident before the Deputies’ arrival. The suspect was arrested. The victim was not injured during the incident.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Whittier Boulevard and Keenan Avenue in the city of East Los Angeles regarding an assault on a bus operator call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted The Bus Operator (Victim), who stated an adult male (suspect) boarded the bus and immediately became argumentative with her.   The victim stopped the bus and told the suspect to get off.  The suspect became irate and spat at the victim, striking her on the face. The suspect exited the bus and rode his bike westbound on Whittier Boulevard and out of view.  The victim was seen by Los Angeles County Fire personnel before the Deputies arrived. A search for the suspect was conducted but met with negative results. The suspect is still outstanding.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to South Pasadena Metro Passenger Station regarding a battery on an MTA contact security call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted MTA Contract Security Officers, who stated they were providing security on the platform when they were approached by an adult male (suspect) who, without provocation and for unknown reasons, knocked one of the MTA contracted security (victim) glasses off his face. The suspect was arrested. The victim was not injured and declined medical attention.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Santa Monica Boulevard and La Jolla Avenue regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted two adult females (victim 1 and victim 2) who stated while on board a Metro bus near Santa Monica Blvd and Highland Ave, in the city of West Hollywood.  The victims were approached by an adult male (suspect), at which time the suspect attempted to take victim 1’s phone and shoes.  Victim 1 held on to her items, and the suspect began to punch Victim 1 numerous times on her upper torso.  Victim 2 attempted to intervene; the suspect then punched the victim 2 numerous times on her head.  The suspect then took victim 1’s hat and exited the bus.  The suspect fled northbound La Jolla Avenue from Santa Monica Blvd and out of view.  The victims were transported to the local hospital for further medical evaluation.  Deputies attempted to locate the suspect but met with negative results. The suspect is still outstanding.

Grand Theft (Copper Wire) – No Suspect information

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to 92nd Street and Graham Avenue in the city of Los Angeles regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that unknown persons stole approximately 103 feet of copper wire from the tracks between 01/31/2025, 0000 hrs, and 02/05/2025, 1100 hrs. The Metro Supervisor was unable to provide any suspect information. The damage and repairs were estimated at $6000.00.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the Downtown Azuza Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who was standing on the platform when he was approached by an adult male (suspect).  Both the suspect and the victim became involved in an argument, at which time the suspect pulled out a knife.  The victim backed away from the suspect; however, the suspect lunged at the victim with the knife.  The victim ran northbound, off the platform, and out of view.  Unknown passengers flagged down deputy personnel and were able to detain the suspect.  Deputy personnel reviewed CCTV footage of the incident and arrested the suspect for the assault.

Suspicious Person on MTA Platform – Patient placed 5150 Hold

While patrolling Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station, Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies were flagged down regarding a person swinging a mallet aggressively near pedestrians. Deputies quickly devised a plan of approach and contacted an adult female (patient) on the east sidewalk of Willowbrook Avenue, north of Imperial Highway. After talking with her, Deputies got the patient to drop the mallet. Upon detaining the patient, she attempted to pull away from them; however, using a firm grip, Deputies were able to overcome her resistance and place her in handcuffs. Nobody was injured during the contact. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and placed on a 5150 hold.

Robbery – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Azuza Metro Passenger Station regarding a robbery that had just occurred call for service.  Upon arrival, deputies contacted an adult male (victim) who told them while standing on the platform, an adult male (suspect) approached him and started a conversation with him, and without provocation, punched him in the face and stole his money from his pocket.   The suspect fled the location on a southbound train.  While the deputies were interviewing the victim, the victim saw the suspect on a northbound train.  Deputies detained the suspect, which the victim positively identified as the person who punched him in the face and stole his money. The suspect was arrested. The victim was treated on scene by Los Angeles County Fire but declined further treatment.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Caroline Avenue in the city of Culver City regarding a grand theft call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated unknown persons stole approximately 30 feet of copper wire cables from the tracks. The suspect(s) also cut the fence to enter the tracks, causing damage to the fence.  The supervisor could not provide a date/time when the copper wire was last seen. The Metro Supervisor was unable to provide any suspect information. The damage and repairs were estimated at $5000.00.

Robbery (Strong Arm) – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to Hyde Park Boulevard and Park Avenue in the city of Inglewood regarding a robbery call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted an adult female (victim) who stated that while she was seated on the bus, a male adult (suspect) approached her from behind and grabbed her phone from her hand. After a brief struggle over the phone, the suspect was able to take the phone and ran off the bus. The suspect ran off the bus, and the victim followed the suspect. The suspect then turned toward the victim and threw the phone back at the victim. The victim retrieved her phone, and the suspect ran southbound on Park Avenue and out of view. The suspect is still outstanding.

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to the 17th Street/Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station regarding a vandalism call for service. Upon arrival, Deputies contacted the Metro Supervisor, who stated that copper cables located underneath the platform had been taken, causing a power outage on the tracks. The supervisor could not provide a date/time when the copper wire was last seen. No suspect information was provided. The damage and repairs were estimated at $2000.00.

Traffic Collision Bus Vs. Vehicle – Minor Injuries

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) Deputies responded to San Fernando Road and West Broadway in the city of Glendale regarding a vehicle vs Metro Transit Authority (MTA) bus collision. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the bus operator, who stated the bus was traveling northbound on San Fernando Road and West Broadway when it was sideswiped by a vehicle.  No injuries were reported.  The MTA Supervisor and the Glendale Police Department responded to the scene.  The bus damages are unknown due to the bus leaving before the Deputy’s arrival. The vehicle sustained substantial damage.  The Glendale Police Department will investigate the traffic collision.

Indecent Exposure – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to the Compton Metro Passenger Station regarding an indecent exposure call for service.  Upon the Deputy’s arrival, they contacted an adult female (victim) who stated while traveling southbound on the A-Line train, an adult male (suspect) stood next to her and exposed his erect penis and began masturbating in front of her.  The victim exited the train at Compton Pax and called 911.  While the victim was on the phone with dispatch, the suspect followed the victim and continued to expose himself and masturbate in public view.  Once Deputies arrived, they contacted and detained the suspect. The suspect was arrested.

Robbery – Suspect Outstanding

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Willowbrook Metro Passenger Station regarding a suspicious person call for service. Upon their arrival, they contacted an adult female (victim) who stated while inside an elevator with her friend (witness), an adult male (suspect), pulled out a knife and threatened the victim. The suspect yell at the victim stating, “Where’s my shit at.” Both the victim and the witness exited the elevator, but the suspect followed them. Trying to get away from the suspect, the victim dropped her scooter which had a red “TJ Max” bag, attached to it. The suspect then grabbed the bag and ran back into the elevator and disappeared up the stairs. The suspect took numerous items from the victim. The suspect is still outstanding.

Assault on MTA Security – Suspect Arrested

Transit Services Bureau (TSB) deputies responded to Santa Monica Metro Passenger Station regarding an assault on MTA Intercom security call for service. Upon the Deputies arrival, the contacted MTA intercom security (victim) who stated I was conducting a welfare check on an adult male (suspect) who was sleeping on the train. The suspect woke up, yelled at the victim and subsequently grabbed the victim and pushed him to the ground. The suspect then left the location, however returned shortly after. The suspect was detained by Metro security personnel. The suspect was arrested.
